Where’s my list?
Forget the dogs, I’ve got drama on my own.
20 days until Denise and I hit the road. Yikes.
This time last year, Mom and I were on the road. Not sure where, but we were on the move.
Mom was way into the “list” system. And, today, I found a couple of voice mails from the packing phase of our grand journey last year. In one, she talked about being so proud to have finally decided on and packed her shoes. Funny that once we finished packing, we went back through everything to edit out things that we didn’t need. Many of the shoes she was so proud to have packed didn’t make the final cut.
I’m trying to use the list system myself for this year’s trip. But, apparently I’m not so good at organization and lost the initial list. The first item on my second list was to locate the first one. And when I lost the second list, you guessed it, the first 2 items on the 3rd list were about finding the first two. You will be happy to know that I now have all 3 lists in one place.
Cleaning out the truck was at the top of one of the lists. So, when Denise and I started to clear it out, we were amazed to see how many things were still in the truck from my trip with Mom. Denise, ever the gracious friend, gave me a pass for not having cleaned it out before now. Thank you, Denise, I love you too.
One of the things we found in the back seat was the trailer hitch, which I had taken out of the receiver. This was because I helped a friend move some furniture and didn’t want to misplace the special hitch that came with my travel trailer. So, when it was installed this week, I didn’t really realize until this morning that there was a problem.
Hopefully the rest of the packing goes a little smoother.
