Day 30
6/14/2024
Spent the morning trying to catch up on my blogging. I’m enjoying this process, but if I don’t keep up, I forget. The intention is to blog until 3 and then go to meet Charlie to pick up their new trailer.
Linda called around 1 to remind me that I said I could pick up a few pieces from her friend Sue downtown. Yikes, I completely forgot. But thanks to Sue for allowing me to come right then.
Getting downtown at that time wasn’t too bad, took about ½ hour. Sue was ready for me and helped me pack the mirror into the truck so that it would survive the trip. I ended up with a full roll of bubble wrap and a stuffed lizard. Getting back up the hill to Shingle Springs was not so fast.
When I arrived at Charlie and Shiela’s, Charlie was just finishing up some strategic tree trimming so he could get the trailer into the back yard. Once done, we were off to fetch the trailer.
Chuck and Kathy were ready for us. They helped us hook up to the trailer, did the paperwork and off we went. Their driveway is an odd shape and as Charlie went down the hill, the trailer cheated a bit more than he had anticipated causing it to run over the beautifully placed rock garden along the edge of the driveway. As I looked out the window to see the result, a large rock rolled down beside me and Chuck caught it like a grounder to 3rd. We all laughed and away we went.
Once back at their house, we pulled in and parked several of times. Once in the front, once in the back and then back up to the front. But ultimately, I think the trailer is truly home.
Shiela went through the trailer and found that Kathy had left some pots and pans in addition to the things she had agreed to leave. We were all very excited, until we discovered it was by accident. Apparently, I had distracted Kathy during her final walkthrough. Hmm, I can be a good distractor even without Milo, hehe. Might be my superpower??? My services are available at no charge… with or without Milo.
Out to Japanese dinner with Charlie, Sheila and Nick who is home for the wedding extravaganza weekend. It is good to see Nick!
Once back at my own trailer, I stowed the mirror, put the lizard in the cupboard and stuffed the bubble wrap into a basket by Milo’s bed. Mistake!!! As we settled in for the night, I turned around just in time to see him getting ready for a good chew. He had pulled that full roll of bubble wrap out of the backet. Oh my or should I say Oh Milo!
