Day 29
6/13/2024
Let me start by saying, I MISS DENISE. But as she has always said, I’ll do fine on my own. I do need to remember to take pictures now that my photographer has gone home.
Charlie, Shiela, Sandy, Lori, Cheryl and Carolyn have kept me busy today, so I didn’t have a breakdown until late. Thank you everyone!!!
Started with a pedicure with Sandy at 9am, then a trip to Goodwill together where I discovered that the hourly rate here in California is pretty darn good. Also picked up a cute blanket/dog bed for Abigail. She doesn’t like to put her behind directly on the ground, hehe.
Then off to the Spaghetti Factory for Lunch with the Girls. I’m so lucky to have relationships that stand the test of time!!! Lori, Cheryl, Carolyn and I figured out the timeline the other day… Cheryl and Lori have known each other since kindergarten. I joined the duo in 3rd grade and Carolyn joined in the 4th grade. So, we have all been together since 1968ish. And each time we get together, we just fall into step with each other like no time has passed. I love that!
After lunch, went back to visit my dogs. They have been so good, hanging out at the trailer with no supervision. The campground has a dog park and during the week I pretty much have it to myself.
Off to Charlie and Sheila’s for dinner and then out to look at a trailer. Great dinner, great trailer. 21’ with a slide out. The couch goes out with the slide out and the bed is always made up. I love it! Can’t wait to have some camping trips with them. I’m hoping we can meet in the middle.
They took me to Baskin Robins for ice cream too. I haven’t been there since we lived on South Parkway. I used to walk Mom’s Great Dane Sheba up to the Baskin Robins there at the Southgate Shopping Center and get both of us a cone. She was so good; I would hold the cone for her as she liked it. We drew quite the crowd.
Back to camp and to the dog park. This is where my day caught up to me and I cried a little. Abigail stood by me and tried to cheer me up. Then Milo got a little rambunctious and he tried to knock me down. This has happened a couple of times now, but tonight I got the best of him, somehow, I was able to knock him down and hold him on the ground. He looked a bit scared… Hopefully he won’t try that again.
Love you all!!!
