Day 26
6/10/2024
Today was a day for the books.
Poor Denise, she always wakes with a great big “Good Morning!!!”. Today it was just a bit wilted. Last night was so much fun and we are still talking about it, but Denise is still feeling it today. So, I went out to pick up gas, salad fixings and tacos. Tacos for Denise as she decided to stay home today.
Armed with salad and that lady of the MapApp, off I went to visit with Robbie, Lolli, Don, Paul and Terry.
I had such a good time. I think the last time we were together was at a campout, possibly at Dillan’s Beach over 15-20 years ago.
Paul worked with Don, Robbie and Paul. Don and Robbie at the body shop and Paul at the glass shop. They shared some wonderful stories about their experiences with Paul.
Don talked about Paul stopping him on a day when everything was rushed and confused and you know, we’ve all had one of those. Paul pulled him into his office (a roll around work stool next to his toolbox) and they just talked. That was Paul, always in tune and compassionate.
Robbie shared a story about when he had purchased Don’s father’s truck and had decided to remove the jake brake and toolbox/gas tank as they were both nothing but trouble. Paul wanted to know what he was going to do with both and when Robbie said he could just have them, I’m sure he was in heaven. The funny thing is, I still have both items and asked if he wanted them back. We just laughed.
We swapped stories for hours; it was amazing and fun and just a hoot.
Then Lolli shared a video of one of our campouts at Dillan’s beach. There must have been 10 or more trailers circled around like a wagon train. The area in the middle was loaded with people cooking, laughing, and generally being crazy. It was awesome. AND we caught a glimpse of Paul, sitting back enjoying all the action. Amazing day then, amazing to see it again now!
Thank you for a great walk down memory lane! Love you all!!!
