Day 24

6/7/2024

No tacos today…  I am double booked!  Lunch with school chums and them dinner with work mates.

But then I added a trip to pick up a ramp for Abigail.  I’m hoping this will help her get in and out of the truck.  They guy was great and had such a beautiful place.  He had to have the ramp himself for his golden retriever.  Slightly used, but still in great shape can’t wait to give it a try.

At this point, I’m late for my lunch date with Lori and Steve, Cheryl and David, and Carolyn and I.  The food was wonderful.  There was BBQ TriTip, corn on the cob, quinoa salad and cauliflower (potato) salad.  Some of the recipes are included in the pictures.

Cheryl’s husband asked us to tell stories on Cheryl so he could use them against her.  We tried, but there just wasn’t enough dirt on Cheryl to spill.  We swapped stories and laughed.  I gotta tell you, I’m happy not all the stories came out.  Pretty sure I was the worst of the bunch.

We talked about taking TP and Seat Covers from one of the stores on the way home from junior high.  We stalked up for quite a while before hitting the road to TP a house or two.  We were really good at it too.  Carolyn told us that she had pass on this particular skill to her kids as well.

Denise was supposed to join us, but I think I’ve drug her off her feet.  She stayed home with the kids and rested.  Lori presented her with the most beautiful rock.  I put it in my salad bowl and made her open it like a present.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of her face.  I think this was the reaction Bush was going for when they launched the ‘Shock and Awe’ campaign in Iraq.

I had a couple of hours to kill before my 2nd booking, now technically my 4th, so I stopped in to see Sandy and her husband Chris.  It was nice to sit in their living room telling stories.  I made a comment to Chris when Sandy left the room for a moment about it being hard to keep up with her.  She is on the go all the time.  Chris told me I was just like her, which may be why Denise stayed home today.

As they were leaving for a picnic at the lake, I took off for Café Bernardo’s to meet my good friends Chu, Cho, Max and Celeste Nhung and her husband David.

I listened to that lady on the map app who took me around the bend and back most of the day, but finally found the restaurant.  I was just in time to meet up with Cho.  As everyone arrived, we choose a great table and sat down to reminisce and catch up.  It was so much fun!  I talked with David for quite a while and think that if I come back to California, I’m going to open a day care center, but only if they will let me put Milo in charge.

It was a wonderful day full of love and laughter thanks to everyone involved!!!
