Day 13

5/27/2024

I know I’m missing a couple of days but couldn’t resist posting this.

Poor Denise, I think I’ve drug her off her feet for the last 12 days.  She asked if she could stay home today while I visited some of mom’s dearest friends here in Owen’s Valley. I dropped her off at the laundry mat in the campground and away I went.

Joy, Heidi, Janice, April, Jon and I spent time in Joy’s outdoor space. They are wonderful people and we had a nice visit with solar tea, coffee cakes and ice cream. Yum.

We ended with a tour of Joy’s garden and on my way out, I followed Heidi over to her house to see her garden. Its amazing what these ladies have done in the middle of the high desert. Flowers, trees, rocks, just amazing.

When I got home, the place was locked up and clean as a whistle. Denise was sound asleep.

We’ve been tromping across the desert in crocks all day and our feet are filthy   But I caught Her’s on film first.

I tried to be quiet, but Abigail gave me what-for because when I crawled into bed, Milo and Ginger followed before she could get in. But nothing shook Denise out of that deep restful sleep she was in. I finally got worried and went back to check on her. Once awake, she told me about her heroing ride with one of the camp workers in his gas powered golf cart/go cart. She said he took some alternate route through a time warp and several empty camp sites. In the end as he skidded to a stop sideways, he dumped over the laundry but helped her out of the cart. Denise said should she would have rode with that big biker dude if he would have had room for the laundry.

We are on our way to Lake Tahoe tomorrow. Can’t wait to stop in Bishop for bread. Wahoo!!!
