My own version of a chain saw massacre
I generally wait to see when the locals do something before I start in. Last weekend the crepe myrtle trees across the street miraculously got a haircut. My queue to start on mine.
Starting with a saws all, dead battery. Moved to the 2nd saws all, again with the dead battery. Went to storage to get battery chargers and voilà, found an electric chainsaw. If only I knew how to use it, right? Enter my neighbor who is outside trimming trees himself. Armed with a quick lesson, I head home and begin.
Yesterday, day 1, I was able to get 3 trees trimmed before my arms began to shake. I stopped before they gave up on me altogether, loaded up the trailer with branches and off to the dump I go. Slept like a baby last night. Today, I got 2 more completed. So, 5 down and 6 to go.
This is definitely going to be a process. I’m thinking 2 at a time or 3 more days. In dog years, that could be up to 3 more weeks.
Like the little engine that could, I think I can, I think I can…
