Day 1

We said it would be a laugh minute, but my word.

Highlights:

·         Almost forgot the dogs… remember together they weigh 255 pounds.  Forgetting them is not an easy task.

·         Uncle Joe came over to do a spot inspection of the rig.  Almost had me believing I had it hooked up backwards.

·         Going through Memphis we followed Denise’s map program which took us to an entirely different bridge across the Mississippi.  I think I freaked her out when I told her I’d never been this way before, but threw her over the edge when I said, “I think were in trouble”.  I’ve never seen anyone work a phone like she did.  Her nose was right up to the screen and her finger was flying.  She told me later, the only thing she could think of was “I gotta fix this, now”.  And by golly, she did cause we were supposed to meet Sarah and the kids for lunch.

·         In Arkansas, we found a park called the “Toad Suck Park”.  I swear, we laughed for miles.

·         When we got to Little Rock, we decided to do some thrifting.  Following a lead Denise found on that phone of Her’s, we found the biggest Goodwill I’ve ever seen in my life.  No racks, everything was in bins.  And when they rung us up, it was by weight.  I got out with shorts, pants, scarf and blinged out shoes for $8.  Denise got out with an alligator belt, some cards describing rocks (remember, she’s a rockhound) and a little pair of bib overalls for her great grandbaby due in August this year.

·         Heading over to the campground, we decided to stop for supplies, you know bear and grub, that dam phone of hers took us on a merry chase to find the nearest Walmart.  Nice neighborhood, but we were ready to set up camp and have some beers.  Finally at Walmart, Denise asked where the beer was located in the store.  The reply came back “lady, this is a dry county”.  Oh S*^+.  Good thing I packed some wine!

·         We are currently in the Hill Top RV park in Conway AR.  The sun is going down we have ½ a bottle of wine left between us.

First thing tomorrow:  Find a wet county and stock up on beer!
